About the Author Karen Welch spent much of her career with Ford Motor Company after graduating with a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from Tennessee Technological University. At Ford, she held both plant and staff management positions in areas including Quality, Engineering, and Production. Welch has been a third party auditor since 1997 working in many industries including automotive, glass, rubber, plastics, chemicals, steel, and transportation. She has audited many large Fortune 500 companies and also worked as a trainer and consultant.
